Disillusionment: having lost faith or trust in something formerly regarded as good or valuable.

Chuck E. Cheese was THE Mecca for a period of time in my adolescence. Entering through those doors to the smell of pizza and the beeps and boops of the arcade felt like a slice of heaven on earth to little boy Bahr III. Over the course of my journey into adulthood, I ventured in there couple more times only to realize the memory I carried with me no longer matched the reality. It eventually closed and was left empty and abandoned. I would drive by regularly on my way home and it would remind me of a feeling and time I once enjoyed and could never get back to. Soon after I captured this image with my friend Venus, they finally removed the signage and any trace of a time that once was. Photography has always served as a way to time travel for me and I wonder how many others out there have celebrated a birthday and have a memory with the great Charles E. Fromage.
