This underpainting was performed in a collaborative splatter paint exercise with my 3 yr old nephew. The ability to create without judgment, completely free, with joy and curiosity is something we all need to be reminded of every now and again. Nothing will pull you out of a creative drought faster than witnessing a kid with art supplies get into it. After observing my nephew develop his masterpiece I figured out what was wrong…I was avoiding what I needed to be doing and that is what inevitably surfaced in this collaboration.
